Announcement #2 for Those of You Who Follow by Email

FollowByEmail widget (Feedburner) is going away

You are receiving this information because your blog uses the FollowByEmail widget (Feedburner).
Recently, the Feedburner team released a system update
announcement , that the email subscription service will be discontinued in July 2021.

Waning Gibbous Moon

Thank you to those who have already jumped through the hoops to register as a "Follower" (I prefer "Reader" or "Friend of the Show" but Blogspot didn't ask me). The rest of you have a few more weeks to procrastinate and beg for extra credit to raise your failing grade right before it's too late. You know who you are!

I was in the middle of learning how to transfer a couple hundred email addresses from Feedburner to Mail Chimp last week when my early 21st century Dell Latitude collapsed/fizzled/croaked right there beneath my fingers. I had most of my stuff backed up, but not all (did you hear that, procrastinators?). Now I have a new Dell Inspiron that was surprisingly inexpensive. I hope it lasts until I can no longer think up or type complete sentences. The fact that I didn't spend much money on this thing may or may not reflect my thinking that another twenty years of blogging may or may not be in the cards.

I am excited about the NBA Playoffs, mainly to see a slight comeback of the big men in the league, but mostly just to see the new young talent starting to take over. There is no substutute for experience, though. I think there are four or five teams who can win.

Today I took a 5-mile walking tour of the "neighborhood" i.e. the farming/ranching land next to which I live. The morning marine layer that is usual for this time of year burned off pretty early for a change so a sunny walk it was. Nothing very crazy in terms of exercise - just rolling hills and straightaways - but it was nice to get out before the games got started in earnest and get home in time for the hoops fun. Here are a few highlights.

Now I am showered and fed with my Lakers shirt on, hoping for the best. I have a feeling the Suns are going to go all out today. Historically, the Lakers don't play well in early games on Sunday. Make some new history!

Peace, Love, and Defense,
Jim
